Everything on Ayahuasca.help is educational. It is not medical advice and is not a substitute for care from a qualified clinician.

Not medical advice

Our content is provided for general information and harm-reduction purposes only. It does not establish a clinician–patient relationship and must not be used to diagnose, treat, or make decisions about any health condition.

We never tell any reader that they are safe or "cleared" to participate in an Ayahuasca experience. Only a qualified clinician who knows your full history can advise you.

Real risks

Ayahuasca carries genuine medical, psychological and legal risks. These include dangerous interactions with medications (for example SSRIs, SNRIs, MAOIs and lithium), cardiovascular effects, and the risk of serious psychological distress. We describe these honestly elsewhere on the site.

If you take any medication or have any physical or mental-health condition, speak with your prescriber before considering Ayahuasca. Do not stop or change prescribed medication on the basis of anything you read here.

In a crisis

If you or someone else is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services. In the UK you can call 999, or contact NHS 111, or the Samaritans on 116 123 at any time.

No facilitation

We do not provide preparation methods, dosing, or sourcing information. We are a harm-reduction publication, not a facilitator.
